ALPHTN - On Demand September 9, 2015

This program, "Head Lice: Practical Approaches in Management", discusses how head lice are a very common problem, especially for kids. They are contagious, annoying, and sometimes tough to get rid of. Program faculty discuss beneficial information that should be used for the treatment of a head lice infestation.

This program discusses care coordination services for children referred through the DHR Early Head Start grant. The focus of care coordination services address the following areas: assessment of medical services, education, medical compliance, linkage to community resources, as well as, the billing process specific to this grant program.


ALPHTN - On Demand October 21, 2015

This program, "Urinary Incontinence: Pathophysiology, Assessment and Treatment", discusses how Urinary Incontinence (UI) is a significant problem, affecting millions of Americans. There are many treatment options other than wearing protective garments. Program faculty will discuss etiology of the different types of UI, including treatment options and pharmaceutical interventions.


ALPHTN - On Demand: November 3, 2015

The 2014 Ebola epidemic was the largest in history, affecting multiple countries in West Africa with relatively weak healthcare systems. This program will discuss the purpose and design of Ebola treatment centers in West Africa, and how medical care is delivered in this setting. The speaker, a pediatric physician who worked inside a treatment unit in Sierra Leone, will provide a first hand account of his experiences.


ALPHTN - On Demand November 19, 2015

This program, "Assessment and Management of Women with Benign Breast Conditions, Abnormal Uterine Bleeding and STI's", This program will discuss benign breast disease with emphasis on pathophysiology and clinical aspects of prevention and management. Program faculty will also discuss how to formulate a differential diagnosis as it relates to abnormal bleeding and distinguishing the difference between the 2010 and 2015 STI treatment guidelines.


ALPHTN - Training December 2015

This program, "ADPH Employee Safety Awareness Video: Run, Hide, Fight", An active shooter is an individual actively engaging in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined and populated area. In most cases, active shooters use firearms and have no pattern or method to their selection of victims. Active shooter situations are unpredictable and evolve quickly. This training video, produced by the City of Houston Mayor’s Office of Public Safety and Homeland Security, provides information that is important for everyone to know during an active shooter event.
