This program, "HIPAA In Emergencies: Ethical Considerations During Disasters", addresses ethical considerations and dilemmas that may arise during times of disaster. The Alabama Board of Social Work Examiners (ABSWE) requires a total of 3 contact hours of Ethics training per licensure renewal beginning January 1, 2017. This course meets the ABSWE requirements for 1 contact hour of Ethics training for licensed Social Workers.

This program, "Ensuring Appropriate Follow-up for Abnormal Breast and Pap Smear Results Utilizing the Tickler/Tracking System", provides Alabama Department of Public Health staff with the acceptable process for using the tickler system for follow-up of abnormal breast and Pap smear findings. Program faculty also discuss new requirements for using the CHR-1 to capture abnormal findings, follow-up and any flagged information.

This program will provide an overview of the Safe to Sleep Campaign and explain the three year project that will be conducted in Alabama. Program faculty will discuss mini-grants that will be awarded to community recipients who apply and agree to provide safe sleep training to a minimum of 50 people in their community within a six month time frame.

This program, "Tuberculosis and Blood Borne Pathogens for Clinic Managers", discusses how Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that usually infects the lungs, but can attack almost any part of the body. The major goals of treatment for TB disease are to cure the individual patient, minimize risk of death and disability, and reduce transmission of M. tuberculosis to other persons. This program will provide information on current changes in the TB protocol. Program faculty discuss proper hand hygiene along with OSHA standards for HIV, Hepatitis B and blood borne pathogens.
