The Youth Tobacco Prevention and Control Program funds projects to protect youth from the dangers of tobacco use. Organizations providing countywide services that have a history of working successfully with state and local tobacco/drug prevention coalitions and with empowering youth and adults to organize and conduct community, workplace, and school activities may apply for funding. Applications that are mailed must be post-marked by Friday, April 27, 2012. Mail applications to the following post office box:

Alabama Quitline
The Alabama Quitline is a toll-free, telephone-based tobacco cessation service for all Alabama residents that provides free counseling and four weeks of nicotine patches to medically eligible callers.
The Quitline offers an incentive for teens who complete the counseling. The Quitline number is 1-800-QUIT-NOW (784-8669). Visit Youth Quitline Materials for free print materials that promote the Alabama Quitline.
