Community of Hope Health Clinic
The Community of Hope Health Clinic offers a free medical clinic to those who qualify. The clinic is held on Mondays from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM and on Thursday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:30 PM at the Shelby County Health Department.
To qualify for the Community of Hope Health Clinic, you must be all of the following:
- a current resident of Shelby County
- between the ages of 19 and 64
- totally uninsured
- at or below 200% of the poverty level
Other than the Executive Director, the Community of Hope Health Clinic is totally dependent on volunteers to run it. These volunteers include physicians, nurses, social workers, receptionists, chaplains, interpreters, and hospitality personnel The Clinic provides a light meal for volunteers who come straight from work without a dinner break.
To be seen at CHHC, you must have an appointment. To receive an appointment, you need to come to the Shelby County Health Department on a Thursday between the hours of 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM. At that time your eligibility for the clinic will be determined. If you are eligible for the clinic you will be given an appointment.
We do not receive any federal or state funds. The clinic is funded by donations.
