Community of Hope Health Clinic
The Community of Hope Health Clinic offers a free medical clinic to those who qualify. The clinic is held every Thursday from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Shelby County Health Department.
To qualify for the Community of Hope Health Clinic, you must be all of the following:
- a current resident of Shelby County
- between the ages of 19 and 64
- totally uninsured
- at or below 200% of the poverty level
Other than the Executive Director, the Community of Hope Health Clinic is totally dependent on volunteers to run it. These volunteers include physicians, nurses, social workers, receptionists, chaplains, interpreters, and hospitality personnel The Clinic provides a light meal for volunteers who come straight from work without a dinner break.
No appointment is necessary. Patients are seen on a first come, first served basis. The number of patients seen depends on how many physicians are volunteering each night.
We do not receive any federal or state funds. The clinic is funded by donations.
