14th Annual FOCUS Rally - Kickoffs September 13 and 21
For the first time there are two regional rallies: September 13 at Bryant Conference Center in Tuscaloosa and September 21 at the Shocco Springs Conference Center in Talladega. Professional development offered for educators and social workers. Nursing CEUs pending.
Ninth Annual Women's Health Update Conference - August 5
The Office of Women's Health Ninth Annual Women's Health Update will be held Friday, August 5, 2016, at the St. Vincent's Health System Bruno Conference Center in Birmingham, Alabama. This year’s theme is "It Takes a Team to Close the Gaps in Women’s Health: An Interprofessional Conference for Health Care Providers." This event is a continuing education offering for registered nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, social workers, dietitians, and other health care providers.
2016 Chronic Disease Institute (CDI) - June 28-29
CDI is The Wellness Coalition’s annual summer conference which provides information about chronic disease prevention and management. Sessions include a variety of relevant, current topics and continuing education credits are offered.
Free STD Testing in Birmingham
Birmingham AIDS Outreach is partnering with UAB to offer free screenings for sexually transmitted infections/diseases at two Birmingham locations beginning in August.

Rural Health Grants - The Office of Primary Care and Rural Health provides a list of state, federal, and foundation grants related to rural health.
