Clinical Services

The Houston County Health Department offers a variety of health services. These services include Family Planning for birth control and reproductive health education, Immunizations for children and adults to include international travel, All Kids Health Insurance for children, WIC (Women, Infants and Children) for food and nutrition education. Other services include cancer detection, diabetes education, tuberculosis screening, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and HIV/AIDs testing and counseling. Health education is a primary component of every program. Some clinical health services require an appointment while others are offered on a walk-in basis. Some services may require a small fee.

Family Planning Supplies

For Depo Shots, Birth Control Pills, NuvaRing, or Patches arrive at clinic by 3:30 p.m. Weekly operating hours include Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Clinic times are subject to change due to training satellites. Always call (334) 678-2800 on Wednesday to see if afternoon services offered. If you are having a problem, please call and arrange a time to come in to see the nurse or the nurse practitioner.

Immunizations

Weekly operating hours include Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. by appointments only. Clinic times are subject to change due to training satellites. Always call (334) 678-2800 on Wednesday to see if afternoon services offered.

STD Clinic

Weekly operating hours include Monday through Thursday from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 to 3:30 p.m. The STD clinic is closed on Fridays. Clinic times are subject to change due to training satellites. Always call (334) 678-2800 on Wednesday to see if afternoon services offered.
