The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is investigating a national Salmonella Typhimurium outbreak associated with contact with water frogs. ADPH would like to remind parents that amphibians and reptiles, such as frogs and turtles, should not be given to children as pets due to the risk of Salmonella infection.
