Changes in Immunization Requirements

A new immunization requirement has been issued for Alabama sixth graders. Beginning with the 2010-2011 school year, a dose of Tdap vaccine will be required for Alabama students 11 or 12 years old entering sixth grade. This requirement will escalate by one successive grade each year, for the following six years, to include sixth through twelfth grades, beginning fall of 2016. You can help minimize
the rush by encouraging vaccination well before the school requirement takes effect.

Pool Rules Revised

Significant revisions were made to the rules governing the construction, equipment, and
operation of public pools and spas and went into effect October 2009.

2013 Swimming Pool/Spa Permit Applications

Have you received your swimming pool/spa permit application?  The Baldwin County Health
Department has started the annual process of mailing out renewal applications for your
operational permit.  Your current permit will expire on February 28, 2013.  If you do not receive
a renewal application by February 8th, please call our office. Review the preprinted applications
and correct any changes which need to be made.  Return the application with your invoice fee to
our office.  Your new 2013-2014 permit will be mailed after receipt of payment, or if your facility is
closed, after it is inspected.  Any renewals received or post marked after February 28, 2013 for
facilities that are open will incur a $50.00 late fee.  Contact Tammy Ricks at 251-947-3618 with
any questions.
