HIPAA in Emergencies: Ethical Considerations During Disasters

This program will address ethical considerations and dilemmas that may arise during times of disaster. The Alabama Board of Social Work Examiners (ABSWE) requires a total of 3 contact hours of Ethics training per licensure renewal beginning January 1, 2017. This course meets the ABSWE requirements for 1 contact hour of Ethics training for licensed Social Workers.

Urinary Incontinence Assessment and Treatment for Professionals

Urinary Incontinence (UI) is a significant problem, affecting millions of Americans. There are many treatment options other than wearing protective garments. Program faculty will discuss etiology of the different types of UI, including treatment options and pharmaceutical interventions.

Safe to Sleep

This program will provide an overview of the Safe to Sleep Campaign and explain the three year project that will be conducted in Alabama. Program faculty will discuss mini-grants that will be awarded to community recipients who apply and agree to provide safe sleep training to a minimum of 50 people in their community within a six month time frame.
