Program Overview

Effective, October 3, 2005, the Bureau of Clinical Laboratories will be using amplified DNA testing for all Chlamydia and Gonorrhea testing. The new assay provides improved sensitivity and offers the option to submit a swab or a urine specimen as well as performing both tests on one specimen. The procedure will replace both the Pace 2 and the Gonostat that we are presently using. There will be some changes in service areas, collection and transport methods, and clinic protocol. Therefore, it is important that everyone involved in the collection of these specimen view this webcast.
