Program Overview
Health promoters are vital assets to emergency preparedness, but are often overlooked in state and local emergency response. The recent national disasters highlight the critical need for health promotion skills in community organizing, advocacy, health communications, and other areas of emergency planning. What were the successes, as well as the lessons learned in the recent Gulf Coast crisis? This plenary will provide some key observations from ground zero responders, as well as CDCs Emergency Communication System staff.
